Feeding Timer

Here is a simple device you can use to turn off a powerhead, skimmer, pump, etc. for up to sixty minutes while you feed the tank. You can walk away and the pumps, etc will come on automatically after the period of time you set.

The circuit keeps the receptacle energized continuously until you set the bathroom timer. Once you activate the timer, the relay is energized and the receptacle is de-energized. When the time runs out, the relay is automatically de-energized and the receptacle is energized, turning on the pump again. I got my relay at Radio Shack (275-217) and I used the relay socket (275-220) to make the wiring easier. Total cost: about $30.
